This guided snow trekking tour aims for the giant icefall, Senninzawa Ice Garden, in Zao. On the way there, you will wear crampons and hike for about an hour while listening to the guide’s commentary. For the return trip, you will change into snowshoes to descend. There will be a lunch break during descent (please bring your own lunch).
Experience the Natural Beauty of the Giant Icefall!
The Senninzawa Ice Garden is a massive icefall over 30 meters high and 10 meters wide, formed by spring water freezing as it seeps from the rock face. It is a mysterious and powerful piece of natural art available only during winter. Interestingly, the ice appears blue rather than transparent. The beauty of the ice blue will enchant you. Enjoy a world of ice and snow that feels like a scene from a movie!
